Consumer Electronics
Consumer electronics refers to electronic products used by consumers in their daily lives. Consumer electronic products are manufactured all over the world. Due to the low cost advantage of Chinese Mainland, the production is relatively concentrated.
Consumer electronic products in China refer to audio and video products related to broadcasting and television used for personal and household purposes, mainly including televisions, DVD players (VCD, SVCD, DVD), video recorders, camcorders, radios, cassette recorders, combination speakers, record players, CD players, etc. In some developed countries, telephones, personal computers, home office equipment, home electronic healthcare devices, automotive electronic products, etc. are also classified as consumer electronics products. With the development of technology and the emergence of new products and applications, digital cameras, mobile phones, PADs and other products are also becoming emerging consumer electronics products. Since the late 1990s, information appliances that integrate the three major fields of computers, information and communication, and consumer electronics have become widely integrated into home life. They have functions such as audio-visual, information processing, and bidirectional network communication, and are composed of embedded processors, related supporting hardware (such as display cards, storage media, IC card or credit card reading devices), embedded operating systems, and software packages at the application layer. In a broad sense, information appliances include all household appliances that can interact with information through network systems, such as PCs, set-top boxes, HPC, DVDs, super VCDs, wireless data communication devices, video game devices, smart TV boxes, WEBTV, etc. At present, audio, video, and communication devices are the main components of information appliances. In the long run, refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, and other devices will also develop into information appliances and form a part of smart home appliances.
