National Energy Administration: The total number of charging stations in China has reached 10.244 million units
On July 31, 2024, the National Energy Administration held a press conference to introduce the construction of charging infrastructure in the first half of the year. As of the end of June this year, the total number of charging stations in China reached 10.244 million, a year-on-year increase of 54%; Among them, there are 3.122 million public piles and 7.122 million private piles, with a total rated power of over 110 million kilowatts, ensuring the charging needs of 24 million new energy vehicles.
In order to create an intercity charging network that effectively meets the long-distance travel needs of new energy vehicles, the National Energy Administration continues to increase the layout of charging facilities. As of now, a total of 27200 charging piles have been built in highway service areas (including parking areas), covering almost all provinces in China.
The National Energy Administration has organized some counties and townships to promote the construction and application of charging infrastructure. More than one-third of provinces in China have already deployed charging facilities to all townships, providing strong support for the deployment of new energy vehicles in rural areas.
Next, the National Energy Administration will continue to promote the construction of a high-quality charging infrastructure system, to assist in the green and low-carbon transformation of transportation and the construction of a modern infrastructure system.
